Standard Excess Policy
All CLASSIC Campers vehicles come with insurance cover. The hirer is responsible for the first NZ$5000 (‘the excess”) of the cost of damage to third party property or to the rented vehicle, including single vehicle accident, windscreen and tyre damage, overhead and underbody damage, towing and recovery costs, theft, fire or break-in. Should the bond be paid by credit card the amount will be debited to your account immediately, any currency fluctuations are not the responsibility of CLASSIC Campers. The bond is fully refundable on return of the vehicle to the agreed location, on the agreed date, with no damage incurred to the CLASSIC Campers vehicle or third party property and no items are lost, damaged, or soiled.
CLASSIC Campers offer the following two (2) options to reduce the Standard Excess:
Safe (reduced excess)
“Safe” at $25.00 per day will reduce the excess for any damage to either vehicle or third party property to a maximum of $1400 ($2250 if <25) and subject to exclusions per rental agreement. The total charge is limited to a maximum of 50 days
Super Safe (lowest excess)
“Super Safe” at $40.00 per day ($25/day after 30 days) will reduce the excess for any damage to either vehicle or third party property to a maximum of $250 ($1200 if <25) and subject to exclusions per rental agreement. The total charge is limited to a maximum of 50 days and includes free windscreen cover.

Change of Vehicle
If, for reasons beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available or a change of vehicle is required on hire, we reserve the right to substitute a vehicle at no extra cost to the client. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to any form of refund.
